Vipers SC sell their star player Farouk Miya to Belgium in USD400,000 (shs1.38Bn) money move

Vipers Sports Club have confirmed the sale of Cranes playmaker Farouk Miya to Europe in a massive money move.

The Club confirmed on their team website that they have agreed to sell Miya to Belgian giants Standard Liege following successful negotiations.

The club wrote in a statement below: "Miya 19, is now free to agree personal terms with the Belgian outfit ending his two year spell at Vipers Sports Club."

Club Statement:

Vipers Sports Club confirms that Miya Farouq will be leaving the club after a transfer agreement was reached with Standard Liege of Belgium. We would like to thank Miya for his contribution and the role he played in helping Vipers lift the 2014/15 Azam Uganda Premier League trophy where he scored 11 goals with 7 assists.

Miya Farouq is expected to complete the move worth about Four hundred thousand US dollars   ($400.000) after the Africa Nations Championship tournament currently going on in different cities of Rwanda.

Miya made 49 appearances scoring 20 goals for Vipers Sports Club since graduating from St Mary’s Kitende Academy during the 2013/14 midseason transfer period.

He was awarded the Uganda Footballer of the year accolade last year after a stunning contribution to the club in the  Azam Uganda Premier League successful campaign.

Everyone at Vipers wishes Miya Farouq well in the future and a successful stint in his professional career.
