President Museveni tips women on HIV/AIDs, urges use of condoms and dismisses circumcision

President Yoweri Museveni has used Women's Day Celebrations at the Kololo Ceremonial Grounds to urge women not to ignore the deadly HIV/AIDS which has killed thousands of the population.

The theme for this year's Women's Day is 'Women's economic empowerement: A vehicle for sustainable development'.

President Museveni returning to the same venue he had his final rally said: "Change your behaviour, don't behave recklessly and protect yourself using condoms."

He said: "AIDS in some areas is going up and what will help is behaviour change and protecting yourself."

The President questioned those advocating circumcision in the fight agaist HIV.

He dismissed: "Male circumcision doesn't prevent HIV as most claim, don't live recklessly but instead take precautions."

President Museveni stated: "According to research, there is something which is not right about male circumcision."
