Legislators have solidly come out in huge support of Nandala Mafabi's call for a parliamentary probe into Bank Of Uganda's role in Crane Bank's troubles.

Mafabi moved to demand for Bank of Uganda officials right from the Governor Emmanuel Mutebile Tumusiime to be arrested for looking on as Crane Bank sunk into into financial mishap.

Mafabi who appeared in NBS Frontline programme charged: "If I had the power, I would arrest all  BOU guys. Where were they when things were going wrong at Crane Bank?"

Legislators in their tens backed up their colleague who says Bank of Uganda has not done enough to supervise commercial banks and their transactions in the country.

Bank of Uganda has since taken over the management of Crane Bank, having suspended Sudhir Ruparelia and his partners over financial mismanagement.
