President Yoweri Museveni believes the South Sudan impasse will soon find a lasting solution when he met Festus Mogae, the man charged with monitoring the process.
South Sudan leaders President Salva Kiir and Riekh Machar went their ways recently when a conflict escalating into gunfire rocked the capital Juba.
Mogae paid President Museveni visit at his country home in Rwakitura Friday.
The Ugandan leader assured the chair: "He briefed me on progress so far. I am confident an amicable resolution to the South Sudan conflict will be arrived at soon."
