FUFA Awards attracted drama Friday night when the most valuable player award when to Onduparaka FC star Shaban Muhammad as opposed to popular choice Denis Onyango.
The second edition of FUFA awards were held at Munyonyo Resort Hotel.
Shaban who inspired his side to the Uganda Premier League was nominated alongside Onyango and Farouk Miya.
Several critics believe the Cranes and Mamelodi Sundowns keeper collected so much to have come second to the Onduparaka striker.
Onyango won the champions league and was instrumental to the Cranes in the road to Gabon next year.
Hasifa Nassuna emerged the 2016 female player of the year.
KCCA FC head coach, Mike Mutebi was crowned coach of the year.
Fans picked Miya as their favourite player of the year.
FIFA referee, Ali Tomusange was awarded FUFA Presidential award.
