Parliament orders Gen. Kayihura and Gen, Katumba to appear and explain their role in Kasese clashes

Parliament Committee on defence has summoned Generals Kale Kayihura and Katumba Wamala to explain the Kasese clashes and excesses which led to 63 lives lost and 139 arrested.

Kasese clashes were sparked off by alleged disagreement between King Wesley Mumbere and President Yoweri Museveni.

President Museveni is reported to have ordered King Mumbere to withdraw guns without fruition.

Parliament committee on defence who quizzed Crispus Kiyonga, a senior figure in Kasese over his involvement in the clashes.

Judith Nabakooba, the head of the committee summoned Gen. Kayihura and Gen. Katumba to appear before them to account for their presence and role in the clashes.

It remains to be seen whether or not the pair will appear as Gen. Kayihura is known for sending his juniors.
