Days when reports emerged that South Africa had detained former Vice President and warlord Dr. Riek Machar, President Salva Kiir has sought for talks to end the fighting in the war torn country.

President Kiir and Dr. Machar fell out after bloody war broke out earlier this year in Juba leaving hundreds dead and thousands homeless.

The President took to national media and called for a 'national dialogue' to end the three-year-long civil war in his country.

South Sudan is the newest nation in the world after splitting from the main Sudan.
