Vipers head coach Jorge Miguel Da Costa dropped experienced striker for Saturday against Platinum stars in the return leg of the Caf confederations cup first round.

The originally 23 man squad was trimmed to eighteen from whom the Portuguese will select the starting team on Saturday.

In defence,Aggrey Madoi returns having missed the home tie where Dan Birikwalira featured in left back.The rest of the backline remains unchanged.

Brian Kakaire may have an opportunity to make his away debut in this competition having impressed the coaches in the recent practices.

Ibrahim Kayiwa  is dropped  alongside striker Tonny Odur.The former is yet to kick a ball for the Venoms in the Confederations cup while the latter came in a substitute in the 1-0 win over the Dikwenas.

Forwards Alfred Leku,Musa Esenu  and Pius Wangi have also stayed behind but Erisa Ssekisambu,Milton Karisa and Francis Onekalit make the three attackers on the Rustenburg bound team.

Da Costa who was spoilt for choice explained,that all his charges had been in good form though only needed to zero down on the best.

” We have selected the best players who we believe will give us the desired results,” the Portuguese stressed.

The Roofings and Hima Cement bankrolled Vipers will jet out of the country on Friday 17,March  at 7am aboard South African Airways.

The team will join Wycliff Luyombya and Robert Sentongo who are already in South Africa to do advance preps.

Despite having a slim advantage over the PSL outfit the Venoms know its not yet over and will be aiming to complete a double over Platinum Stars.

However,any kind of draw in the game will see the Ugandan representatives progress to the next round.
